A personal blog post from our MD, Neil Gardner

November 3rd 2003, Sunday afternoon – my best friend, Peter Barnes, was playing Gauntlet with me on the PS2 in our shared front room (we shared a flat in Croydon). Suddenly he started losing control of the left side of his body. A race to the local hospital and a few hours later and he started fitting violently. A few more hours later he was, to all intents and ...

The Art of Audiobook Mastering

Posted by:

The Joy of Stephen Fry!

Posted by:

In May last year our MD, Neil Gardner, was speaking at the marvellous CrimeFest event in Bristol. The final question posed on the audiobook panel was “If you could bring one crime/detective novel to audio, which would it be?” Now, considering the questioner was the head of Audible original content, this was a good chance to pitch for some work. So, who was the brave soul to attempt to read the entire Bible from start to finish?  It could be only one man…John Banks! Known best for his audio work with the likes of Big ...

Over a couple of fantastic days in early May we had the absolute joy of playing host to Big Finish Productions, in the form of director Scott Handcock (Doctor Who, Dorian Gray, Gallifrey, Iris Wildthyme) and actor/multi-voice Dan Starkey (Strax in Doctor Who, amongst many other roles). In addition, we also got to work with the lovely Joseph Kloska…what a treat!

We can’t reveal what the project we recorded was, but it was a great couple of days and, as always, ...
